Fleet 01 currently positioned at Kochi. FL02 positioned 300 Km east of Sri Lanka.
Task Force Alpha, Bravo and Charlie form up at Diego Garcia. I Marine Division undertakes Field exercises at Palghat. New Training Command set up. Compulsory military enlistment for all in the age group 18-30 for a period of 2 years. Enlistment for Navy, Marines and Air Force. First year of enlistment as Marine, 2nd year optional b/w three services. After 2 years option for Reserve Forces or Regular Forces/King's Commission.

By now entire FL02 based at Kochi will have been provided by MH53 and Blackhawks. AIM-R with a range of 100 km is now being combat tested at Kavaratti AFB. AIM-H with a range of 40 km is undergoing user trials at Ponnani AFB
