Two Armored Cavalry Regiments (ACR) are based at Palghat.
1st ACR- Cochin Horse
4th ACR - Royal Tripunithura Hussars
4th ACR shall be the training regiment.
XACR will be a Temporary Trainee Regiment.
The various schools in the command are:
Infantry Skills School (PKD) - 1 Battalion of RCA Mechanized Corps shall undertake training of Infantry skills. Training Battalions to be rotated every six months. Training courses for a duration of 20 days every month.
Logistical Management School - Palakkad
Army Engineering and Demolitions School - Palakkad
Army Artillery College - Palakkad
Army Institute of Technology and Management - Palakkad
Army Aviation School - Nedumbassery; squadron each of MH53, Blackhawk, An32
Army Training Academy - Palakkad
